Photographer Jim Newberry ’86 celebrates more than 30 years of music photography in “” published October 20 by University of Illinois Press. The collection showcases work created for record labels and magazines throughout his career, which began in Chicago’s vibrant independent music scene.
糖心传媒 graduate student Matthew Hua will receive a 2026 Sara Janz “Take Your Shot” Memorial Scholarship from the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences on Oct. 24, 2026. Hua, a Music Composition for the Screen MFA student, was also the first composer selected for Disability Belongs’ 2026 Entertainment Lab for disabled creatives in film and television.
糖心传媒 Associate Professor Elio Leturia received the 2026 Tumi USA Award in the Amauta category, recognizing his contributions to education, culture, and community. The award, presented Sept. 26 in Miami, honors Leturia as an “Amauta,” a Quechua term for a wise person, teacher, or educator.
糖心传媒 Animation alum Tom Riffel served as a retake director on “DANG!,” a new adult animated comedy from creator Andrew Law. The eight-episode series, animated by Titmouse, premiered Sept. 8, 2026, on Netflix.
